The word perfume is originated from the word smoke, which is the oldest smell known. “per fummum” - through smoke.
The aromas were already used as a form of seduction for thousands of years ago: Cleopatra, the legendary queen of Egypt who lived half a century before Christ, made use of aromas in order to seduce Mark Anthony, her great love.
The scent is considered to be the most primary sense, and perhaps the most accurate one. Therefore, it is important to choose a good perfume.
The skin type has influence on the perfume's retention. Oily skins hold the fragrance much more. Who has dry skin must reapply it more often.
One same perfume may vary from person to person. Each person has its own chemistry based on the genes, skin type, hair color and even the lifestyle she/he has or the environment at which she/he lives. Try the perfume on your own skin to see how it reacts to your body's chemistry.
The right choice for each occasion.
Day: prefer perfumes based on aromatic herbs, like lavender or rosemary, or citric, like orange and bergamot.
Night: choose fragrances elaborated with dense ingredients, like woods, resins, noble flowers and also gourmet options, with notes of sweet fruits, chocolates or vanilla.
Summer: for warm days, the best option is to use light aromas, as floral, frugal, the lavenders, the citrics and even the unisex.
Winter: the colder climate allows the use of more embodied and warm perfumes, such as wooden and oriental.
